Auberge du Val d'Ouche
Auberge du Val d'Ouche is a Burgundy restaurant, located in the village of Bligny-Sur-Ouche, France. The chef contacted me, wanting to reforge his website and his online presence since a large part of his summer clientele is tourist. It is a way for him to adapt to the new habits of potential customers and makes it possible to offer the convenience of consulting the menu remotely.
He wanted a modern and simple design and already knew what information he wanted to highlight.
The restaurant focuses on its authentic side and its family cuisine. It is therefore necessary that the site puts these qualities to the foreground while combining the desired modern look. We are therefore going to put on the colors, using a slightly pastel red for the warm side, and a layout incorporating many photos. We must also highlight the hotel managed by the establishment. So I proceeded to make a mockup (which you can see on this page).
We spoke very regularly, making it possible form me to update him on the progress of the project as well as to propose ideas.
The chef had put aside some images that we could use, but we agreed that a few were missing, and therefore asked me to take the pictures myself, in early 2022.
Various interactive elements dot the page. Among them, two carousels developed for the occasion, allowing visitors to easily view the various images that might be of interest before coming to the restaurant or hotel. These carousels do not load all the images during the page loading, which avoids a heavy and slow page to load initially. The integration of a Google Maps map centered on the restaurant constitutes an important element of the page, quickly and visually giving the location of the establishment, even for non-French speakers.
Finally, the site was deployed and hosted at OVH. We have agreed that I take care of the maintenance and updating of the site's data, as well as the various renewals, such as for the hosting and the domain name.
I am happy to have carried out this project with an interested and interesting partner, who trusted me for the creation of his site and continues to trust me for the administration of this tool.
